Guided Hunt Waiver and Firearms Acknowledgment

1. The hunt and its risks. I am taking part in a guided hunt. I understand that this involves risks that care and instruction cannot remove, including firearms and archery equipment, other hunters, uneven and remote ground, tree stands and elevated blinds, vehicles and off-road machines, weather, water, animals, and the distance from medical care. I accept those risks for myself.
2. Firearms and equipment. I am competent with the firearm or bow I bring, it is in safe working order, and it is mine to possess lawfully. I will treat every firearm as loaded, keep it pointed in a safe direction, keep my finger off the trigger until I am ready to shoot, and be certain of my target and what is beyond it. I will unload and case firearms in camp, in vehicles and around buildings, as business name directs.
3. The guide decides. I will follow the guide's instructions about where to hunt, what to shoot and when to stop, and I will not shoot from or across a vehicle, a road or a boundary. The guide may end my hunt at any time for unsafe handling, and I understand that no refund is owed if they do.
4. Tree stands and elevated blinds. If I hunt from an elevated stand I will wear the full-body harness provided and stay attached from the ground up and back down. I understand that a fall from height is the most common serious injury in this sport.
5. Alcohol and drugs. I will not handle a firearm or bow after drinking or while taking anything that affects judgement or coordination, and I understand that anyone who does is finished hunting for the trip.
6. Licences and tags. I am responsible for holding the licences, tags and permits the law requires of me, for tagging and checking in what I take, and for obeying season, sex and bag limits.
7. Release. To the extent the law where business name operates allows, I release business name, its owners, staff, guides and the landowner from claims for injury, loss or damage arising from my ordinary participation, other than claims arising from their negligence or misconduct that the law does not let a release cover.
8. Medical care. If I am injured, I consent to first aid and to emergency medical care, and I am responsible for its cost, including evacuation from the field.
