Slip and Dockage Agreement

1. What this is. Permission to keep the vessel in the slip named, for the period named. It is a licence to use a berth and not a lease of water or land, and the marina may move the vessel to another suitable berth when it needs the space for dredging, repair, weather or the safety of the basin.
2. The vessel. It is the vessel described, it is seaworthy, and it is mine or is in my lawful care. I will tell business name before I substitute another vessel or change its length or draft.
3. Insurance. I hold hull and liability cover of at least insurance minimum naming business name where the policy allows it, and I will give proof on request and at renewal.
4. What I am responsible for. Lines, fenders and the vessel's condition, at all times and in all weather. Shore power cords in sound condition and rated for the load. Fuel, oil and waste kept aboard or taken to the facilities provided, never over the side. Damage the vessel does to the dock, the piles, the utilities or another vessel.
5. Storms. When a named storm is forecast for this area I will move the vessel or secure it as the marina's storm plan directs, by the deadline the marina gives. If I cannot be reached and the vessel is a danger, business name may secure or move it at my cost, and doing so is not an assumption of responsibility for it.
6. Not a bailment. business name does not take custody of the vessel, its tender, its equipment or anything aboard it, does not watch over it, and is not responsible for theft, vandalism, weather, fire, sinking or damage from another vessel, except damage caused by business name's own negligence.
7. Rules of the basin. Speed, wake, pumpout, live-aboard, pets, grilling, hot work, guests and quiet hours as posted. The marina may refuse a vessel or end this agreement for repeated breaches, on notice days days' notice.
8. Fees and liens. Dockage is due as agreed; late fees and the marina's rights over an unpaid vessel are as the law allows.
By signing I confirm that I have read this, understood it, and meant to sign it.
